Dr. Micah Christensen (PhD, History of Art, University College London) returns to his series of lectures exploring the lives and works of artists who were once well known and have since fallen out of collective consciousness. In this lecture, he explores the career of Jean Paul Laurens (French, 1838-1921), who is considered by many to be the last great history painter. His contributions to public buildings, especially the Panthéon in Paris.
